The second major plagiarism case this year in American editorial cartooning is playing out with Jeff Stahler, who has been suspended from his job at the Columbus Dispatch
after Daily Cartoonist posted
examples earlier this week.
You may recall earlier in the year when an Andy Borowitz joke somehow found its way into Stahler's work. I've seen other examples as well and have a particularly damning one in which he clearly reproduces art from a Mike Lester comic. Some are making excuses for Stahler and his many coincidences. Others are finally admitting what's been an open secret in editorial cartooning for many years.
A Poynter article today
goes a little more in depth about what is going on within the AAEC at this moment.
