Republicans have stopped referring to health care reform as the Job-Killing Health Care Bill,” instead toning it down to the “Job-Crushing Health Care Bill.” Which is good because I was worried someone would take them at their word and literally kill a job. Now they’ll only be crushing them underfoot, which is much more safe.

Everyone is toning down their rhetoric these days. John Kerry is sitting next to John McCain at the State Of The Union. It’s the Era Of Civility! In the last week I even caught a few pundits stopping themselves mid-sentence from uttering a harmless expression like “Don’t bite my head off” to immediately replace it with something with less reminiscent of the Zombie Apocalypse. Don’t speak loudly towards my face, please!

I’m convinced that we have seen the end of violence in our society.”
