But one thing is certain. It's a war and we're in it. And everybody knows it. Everyone, that is, except weird Portland. ... At least that's until a young Somali man selected Portland for his alleged plot to kill hundreds of innocent men, women and children because, in part, our tolerance and our weirdness would have us convinced it could never happen here.I suppose he could have carefully selected Portland to drive a stake in the heart of a city that was convinced terrorism could never happen within its tolerant, weird, wacky borders. Or maybe him and his parents just live in the area.
